Stick to your ribs

I hated oats as a kid. "That oatmeal will stick to your ribs!" my mom said. Terrible. Just awful. I'd drown it in brown sugar, sneaking extra when my mom wasn't looking (did you know that if you put a scoop of oatmeal in the bowl, then hollow out an area and fill it brown sugar, then cover it up with another scoop of oatmeal, no one will know?) and never finish the bowl.

Today oats are my go-to breakfast, and you'll never convince me it's less than the best option out there. Cheap, versatile, delicious hot or cold, and easy to prepare, it's nothing short of perfect. Oh, and yes-- it sticks to your ribs.
